The loop
What you are going to do, by when, and how you will know it is done. That last part matters. “Read more” is a wish. “Finished the last chapter” is a promise.
Lock a photo your friends only see if you miss, or put the apps you reach for behind a lock. You choose the consequence while you are still feeling confident.
Your accepted friends see the promise, cheer you on, and find out either way. The deadline is kept by our servers, not by your phone.
The stakes
A promise with nothing behind it is a wish. Choose the kind of consequence that would actually get you out of the chair.
Choose one photo when you make the promise. It is uploaded privately and stays locked. Miss your deadline and it unlocks, for your accepted friends only, for 24 hours. You can take it down sooner whenever you want.
Pick the apps you open without thinking. Miss your deadline and they are shielded on your iPhone for as long as you set, from an hour to a week. Your friends are told it happened, never which apps you chose.
Guardrails
Friends are added one at a time, by username, and both people have to agree. There is no discovery, no suggested people, no strangers, and no way for a promise to reach anyone outside your circle.
No streak to protect, no ranking against your friends, no score. One promise at a time, kept or missed. Nothing here is designed to make you feel behind.
If you genuinely finished before the deadline and a miss was recorded, you can correct it and say why. The original stays in the history. Finishing late is still a miss, and that is the deal you made.
Change your mind before the deadline and you can withdraw, with a reason your friends can read. Saying so out loud is not the same as quietly failing.
Your things
It is stored privately and shown to nobody unless you miss. It is served only to people signed in and authorised at that moment, never cached, and deleted when the 24 hours are up, when you remove it, or if the friendship ends. Locked means access is restricted. It is not end-to-end encrypted, and a friend could screenshot it, so only ever stake a photo you would genuinely be fine with those people seeing.
Your photos are not analysed, scored, read by a model, or used to train anything. We check that a file really is an image and that it is not too large. That is the whole of it.
If you stake your apps, the list of which apps you picked stays on your iPhone, in a form only the app can read. It is never sent to us and never shown to your friends.
You can delete your account from inside the app, and your photos and content go with it.
